Dear Parent of a Westfield High School Senior:
The Westfield High School Guitar Booster Club would like to congratulate you and your student on his or her upcoming graduation. This is another among the many milestones that your child will pass on the road to success. You can be justifiably proud.
We are aware, however, that these times can be financially demanding. This can be especially true if your child's career path involves enrollment in a college or university this fall. In order to further recognize the achievements of our seniors and to help in a small way defray those college costs, the Guitar Boosters are pleased to be able to offer at least one scholarship of at least $500 to a deserving Westfield High School senior(s) guitar student graduating in June, 2009. This year's scholarships are funded in part by the annual Westfield 5K Run.
An application and associated instructions are enclosed for your convenience. Additional applications can be obtained from the Westfield Career Center Office or from our website at www.westfieldguitar.org. The completed application, along with the required essay, must be submitted on or before May 15, 2009. The Scholarship Selection Committee, which consists of three (3) Guitar Booster parents (excluding the president and parents of a senior) will make their decision based upon these written submissions. The scholarships will be awarded at the end-of-the-year senior awards ceremony in June.
