The students need to arrive at West Potomac High School by 8:30 am wearing the required concert attire – black pants, black shoes, black socks, and the black long sleeve Westfield Mock Turtleneck. The Concert Ensemble is scheduled for their warm-up time at 8:55 am and will be performing at 9:30 am. The Jazz Ensemble is scheduled for their warm-up at 2:05 pm and will be performing at 2:40 pm. The presentation of the Glen McCarthy Award and a concert by Don Ross is scheduled from 1:00 – 2:00 pm – attendance is mandatory for all students performing on Saturday. There will be many opportunities throughout the day for the students to attend various workshops – which is strongly encouraged. Food and beverages will be available on-site for purchase. There will also be a limited number of MAGF t-shirts offered for sale that day for $15 each.
Directions to West Potomac High School:
* West Potomac High School is located at 6500 Quander Rd, Alexandria, VA 22307
* There are only two entrances, both from Quander Road and both put you on the front side of the school. Both entrances automatically lead you to the Springbank Arts Center due to their traffic patterns. Of the 3 buildings that make up the high school, Springbank is the building that is furthest on the left as your enter.
* The upper entrance is a one- way traffic pattern that automatically leads you around to Springbank (Entrance A-drop off) and the lower entrance will directly run you into the side Springbank (make your 1st left and you are at Entrance 2A). There's a giant parking lot on both sides of Springbank. Entrance A & 2A will be closest to the registration table.
